I know Tim Clemente.  He is far from a “hater”.  In fact, he is a loving father, husband and patriot who has sacrificed for the sake of this country beyond the understanding of those whose ideologies teach them that we must have a valueless society. I don’t know many people who are  conservatives that do not have some level of understanding and tolerance for the gay community.  However, it is not the government or the media’s place to try and force what some call immoral behavior, onto others to make it OK for everyone?  

Tolerance for other human beings is NOT calling good people names like “hater” when they just don’t believe in something you do.  These people need to look in the mirror and realize that not everyone wants what they do. The ongoing feuding about this subject is fueled by such statements and only divides the country further.

Here’s an idea that everyone can get behind…..Why not take government out of the family entirely and then everyone can have their own way! A much more civil and tolerant proposition to get what they want.

It’s worse than “it takes a village to raise a child” She is basically saying the “children belong to us and we (the government) decide how to raise then and what “thing”(unborn) we spend the tax money on!

If you do NOT hear the echo of the Soviet Education conference of 1919, the Hitler Youth movement of the 1930′s and 1040′s, and the Communist Chinese and North Korean Marxist/totalitarian regimes claiming complete ownership of your children, you may want to consider, that their ideology has gotten to you too!
We are ALL  influenced through subtle and not so subtle media.  However, this “FORWARD”  campaign is insanity and is obviously intended to spew the ideology of the progressives,  to literally wipe away the morals and values of everyone in this country!   We must ALL question authority and every media outlet that does not, is part of the problem!

Look at what your kids are bringing home from school. What are they studying?  More importantly, WHO are they studying? Even worse…WHO ARE THEY NOT STUDYING!     When you begin to question authority and look to see how they are influencing our children…you can clearly see the insertion of a progressive indoctrination program in the ciriculum.   Most messages are carefully disguised to our children as neccessary  ”tolerance”  to those different from us and in the process are confusing children as to what and who they really are!   They have taught a new belief system, one that contains no opinions and no consequences.  This is how they describe “normal” now.

We ALL must question this Administration on every front.  Write and use the internet to get the ground level truth about what they are doing to  free thinking people who value  a nation of morality and civility.    Call out  the leftist media on their propaganda campaigns to win over at least one heart or mind.  Their machine will not stop until they fulfill the “progressive” agenda.    By their own teachers and ideology, this is nothing less than Socialism which then becomes Communism.

Police in NJ brought the Dept. of Child and Family Services officers to the home of this NJ man after seeing pictures of his 10 year old son holding an AR. Not only did they push their way into the home to search for any unsecured guns lying about the house (which they did not find) they insisted on making him open his gun safe with threat to take his kid from him if he didn’t! Why did they want to see his guns…to record the serial numbers and see if they are registered. In NJ you don’t have to register your guns, regardless, he got his attorney on the phone and he said DO NOT OPEN THE SAFE to them and even told them so on the phone. Actions by local officials like this will become more and more prevalent as those who think they have power, will abuse it. Its time that all Americans get to know their rights to keep and bear arms and its likely those that do not…well, you get what you ask for. Stupid is as stupid does. Lets enforce those who do stupid things. A Facebook post of a kid with his new hunting rifle, should never prompt such an intrusion!

For those who are still learning about the outdoor and shooting sports world, you’re with me!  I learned that this Standard Division in IPSC is  basically like winning the Iron Sight Division of USPSA Limited.  Dave’s  final score was 1667.8517 and he felt good about the match.

We can look forward to more strong finishes for Dave and big thanks to GASTON J. GLOCKSTYLE, Ltd.  and OMB for supporting  this Super Star shooter         You guys were right on the mark!

If we were a true melting pot, there would not be such diversity of cultures.  Its generational how people feel about guns.  It’s based on their own personal experiences, the media that feeds them facts (or not) and the political climate we have to deal with today.  So, in Detroit they are melting guns in desperation, while in San Antonio they are happy to have had a bystander stop a violent stabbing with his concealed carry.   Two completely different cultures and reactions to carrying a firearm and our 2nd Amendment rights.

Places in our country have  become SO lack of diversity, they are imploding.  Parents are giving up their own safety to be actively doing something against the  fear that their children will only “kill each other” with them.

By melting them, they are making a clear statement of disregard for selling in other parts of the country who do not have the problems they do in Detroit.  However, if more good people in Detroit were not so afraid of guns…they would not be where they are today.  Many a thug up and down the alley would have been blown away, not to reproduce the next generation of thugs.

Reporters have got to have seen it all by now…..

“Photos of the world’s first 3D printed gun were discovered on the AR-15.com, a forum for firearms enthusiasts and supporters of gun rights. The creator, who goes by the username HaveBlue, assembled the weapon by combining the body of a normal .22 caliber pistol with that of a printed plastic version of the lower receiver used in AR-15 assault rifles (similar to the military’s M16). HaveBlue then tested out the creation by successfully firing 200 rounds without any signs of malfunction or complications, according to a post on the web site.

HaveBlue documents his gunsmithing process in such a detailed way, it might be a bit unnerving for some folks. With little more than a Stratasys 3D printer, a $30 batch of plastic resin and printing specifications available on the internet, the user was able to produce several of the necessary working parts. A step-by-step blueprint for making your own AR-15 lower receiver can also be found on Thingiverse.

While only one part of the gun was actually ”printed,” the lower receiver is the critical piece that enables the weapon to fire. It includes the bolt, trigger and the magazine, where ammunition is stored. Thats why under the American Gun Control Act, it’s this lower part that constitutes an operational gun and thus is heavily regulated.” (SmartPlanet, 2012)

The issue which arises now is that if anyone with a 3D printer can manufacture this part themselves or, as my previous report found, can purchase firearms freely using underground websites, what good would any form of “gun control” be?

THIS IS JEFF.  His story was brought to my attention from Wounded Vets.org and when I learned he was using MMA as his coping mechanism for dealing with his PTS….it was time to make a few calls!  The result was totally unexpected and obviously meant to be!

     I am a true Optimist, but must say a bit jaded when it comes to the wounded warrior “big brands” taking in all the benefits of the media campaigns currently under way when there are over 400,000 other groups that are doing the work that no one will ever know about.  Primarily because they don’t get the media attention!   However, I am really happy to see Hollywood and the VA step up to take a stand for Veteran issues in general.  They are starting at the top by partnering with Celebrities, the media and Facebook.   After all, its not a partisan issue we are dealing with here.  Facts are, if we can’t take care of our troops who are killing themselves everyday, how can we expect a volunteer military for any of us!   Its clear to anyone who takes a minute to learn about how this 7% of the population lives, that ALL military families sacrifice pursuits that the rest of us take for granted in order to support our country’s defense.

Now, I’m not a hater of the almighty dollar (and I’m rooting for its robust return to power) but let me just say that it can get in the way of doing the right thing.  While saying WE support Veterans, it’s a far different thing to put the money where the work is actually getting done.  However, when they do…it makes them look like even bigger rock stars, if they can find a way to leverage it properly.

WE GIVE  HOPE THAT BY JOINING FORCES WE ARE TRULY HELPING OUR VETERAN COMMUNITY BY BRINGING THEM TOGETHER, TO HELP EACH OTHER.

Our team of “World’s Best” competitive shooters, trainers, skydivers and special forces legends help our nations wounded war fighters feel alive again within a grateful community, some which we organize at the US Veteran Corps and the NC- USO.  These are just an example of the people whom they are comfortable and corporations and celebrities can help sponsor our events, or their own… with a little help and expert planning by my team.   Everyone has to remember that the veteran community is a niche market because their experiences are only truly understood by those who have “been there…done that!”

Facebook already provides suicide-prevention services, but the social network announced a special initiative targeting the U.S. military and its families, teaming up with Blue Star Families and the Department of Veterans Affairs to offer customized services to veterans, active-duty military-service members, and their families.

The Facebook engineering team developed a customized solution to help identify military families and personnel and offer them specific information if friends or family members report any of their content on the social network as harmful or suicidal, including information on The Veterans Crisis Line, which provides access to Department of Veterans Affairs responders via phone, online chat, or text messaging,

Blue Star Families said two key results from its third annual Military Lifestyle Survey fueled its partnership with Facebook:

• 86 percent of military families on Facebook said they access the social network daily.
• The percentage of military family members who have considered suicide (10 percent) is almost equal to the percentage of service members who have considered suicide (9 percent).

The panel will be moderated by Facebook Vice President of U.S. Public Policy Joel Kaplan, and guest panelists are scheduled to include:

• Blue Star Families Director of Research and Policy Vivian Greentree, a co-founder of the organization, Navy veteran, and military spouse.
• Department of Veterans Affairs Psychologist Caitlin Thompson.
• Denise Hamlin-Glover, senior manager of the Combat Stress Recovery Program at the Wounded Warrior Project.

Special forces, businesses help each other out

It began less than two months ago as a brainstorm to help special operations forces veterans and raise awareness among local business leaders of what operators do in the field.

Have active-duty and veteran Air Force Special Tactics Squadron members, Green Berets, Marine Special Operations Command members, Rangers and SEALs teach local business leaders how to shoot machine guns and other weapons, then lead them in a competition.

Golf tournaments? Fishing derbies?

Been there, done that, says Scott Neil, a recently retired special forces master sergeant who came up with the idea. Neil, who used to train special forces members on how to shoot in urban combat situations, wanted to offer the amateurs “the same environment used by Green Berets and SEALs to test each other.”

For Neil, the event, called Shooting With SOF, was a natural for several reasons.

As a former senior enlisted adviser to the director of the Interagency Task Force at U.S. Special Operations Command, Neil was used to bringing disparate groups together to work toward a goal.

Coming on the heels of the anniversary of the demise of Osama bin Laden, the curiosity factor about special operations forces remains high.

Then there is the cool factor.

“People love to tell their buddies stories,” Neil says. “I did something you didn’t.”

After the concept was signed off on by a group of Neil’s fellow SOF veterans, including David Scott, a retired Air Force major general who served as deputy director for Socom’s Center for Special Operations, word quickly and quietly spread through the special ops and business communities. People offered to help. Without any advertising or media coverage, the teams quickly filled up.

“It was all achieved by word of mouth,” says Neil.

Shooting With SOF will not only give business leaders a chance to see how special operators work, Neil says, but it will also give special operators a chance to learn how to become successful in civilian life.

Paralyzed veterans will also get a chance to shoot, Neil says, thanks to Be Adaptive, which makes hunting and fishing equipment for the disabled. The company has a wheelchair device that allows a paralyzed shooter to use a blow tube to fire a weapon.

It all starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bad Monkey, a new bar in Ybor City run by Scott. From there, the shooters will travel by limo bus to the Teneroc Shooting Sports range in Lakeland. After the competition, shooters will head back to the bar for awards, razzing and perhaps an adult beverage or two.

The inaugural Shooting With SOF benefit supports three charities:

• The Green Beret Foundation, which provides financial resources, immediate-need supplies, caregiver assistance, and educational scholarships to wounded or ill Army Special Forces warriors and their families. www.greenberetfoundation.org

• TAMCO Foundation, a non-partisan organization dedicated to helping severely wounded veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. www.tamcofoundation.org

• Black Dagger Military Hunt Club, providing peer-to-peer hunting and shooting opportunities for military men, women and family members. www.blackdaggermhc.org

Though the shooting slots are filled, anyone wanting to make a contribution to the charities or meet the special operators can attend the Cigars and Cars event at Jaguar of Tampa, 320 E. Fletcher Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Thursday or show up Saturday night at Bad Monkey Bar, 1717 E. 7th Ave., Ybor City.

The participants will be transported to an exclusive shooting range where they will compete and have fun shooting exotic weapons. The exciting range matches will showcase Special Operations Forces (SOF) legends, such as Scott Neil and friends, as well as, other well known patriots who have served their nation in Iraq, Afghanistan and other global operations.

Of special interest is the firing range dedicated for severely injured and disabled veterans assisted by special adaptive shooting technology provided by Be Adaptives, which can assist disabled war fighters… even quad amputees, to perform the shooting skills they previously enjoyed.  This type of “shooting sports re-integration” provides our wounded heroes with camaraderie from a grateful community and is a unique feature of this dynamic shooting event.

The entire day is made possible through the generous support of sponsors such as General Dynamics, Elder Automotive Group, as well as corporations involved in adaptive sports technology, special operations support, and patriotic business leaders.

Its German descent but a familiar last name to Samoans, thanks to WWI Germans exploiting trade and making babies there in Samoa.  In the N.County area of San Diego, Ca. where I grew up,  there was a group of Marquardt’s who were on our rival football team.  I went to Vista High with our own Samoan hero,  legendary Colorado University quarterback, Sal Aunese (RIP).  Sal would joke with the his O’side brothers to be nice to me because I was one of them.  One day someone on the Oceanside team started the joke that I was their ‘albino Samoan girl’.  A mascot of sorts. I couldn’t argue with that.

Players who surfed, including Junior, would see me out in the water and were always super friendly.  The competition for waves was always fierce especially for me as a teenage girl, but they would shelter me from oncoming posers threatening to run over the little albino Samoan girl or snaking all my waves.   I was blessed to learn how to surf in their presence, riding waves in Oceanside Harbor the Pier or Buccaneer Beach breaks.   I always loved them and a handful of other good guys, who gave me that gift growing up.  They were some of the best times of my life.

People thought Junior Seau was so lucky.  But he really sacrificed his life to rise above the beach loving, party throwing, rowdy, church going crowd…just to be able to go back to them again as the same guy that left, or so many had thought.  On his journey, he made us cheer for the Chargers even when they sucked and took what still seemed to be our small town, into the Football Hall of Fame. For that we are all grateful as he came back and used his fame to help the at-risk youth and Marines of our community and created the Junior Seau Foundation.

In his retirement,  Junior could be found on any given morning in front of his beach house doing CrossFit exersizes with local Marines, surfers, housewives, the postal carrier, whomever wanted to get down and dirty on the sand and be motivated by and become motivation for, this NFL legend.  It was a gift he freely gave to his neighborhood just south of Oceanside Pier on the strand.  A perfect view and  some of the best surf in the area was his backyard and he loved it there playing his ukulele and his spirit channeling his Samoan island ancestors.  Over the years, the Pier became home to gang-bangers and there was even an occasional murder, but for the most part people like Junior are what kept it clean, safe and under watch.   It’s a safe bet that nothing would get by Junior, if he saw it happening.

Life seemed good for Junior Seau.  He had a beautiful girlfriend Mary, who lived with him, took care of his business, made sure he remembered appointments and was devoted to him, he had kids that he loved and was so proud of his daughters on ‘The Wave’ volleyball team.  He traveled to her events and was a saving grace for the volleyball Dads who were needing a major testosterone infusion on these girls trips, or a little ukulele entertainment.   I think is safe to say is that Junior was the kind of guy with such a huge heart, that to disappoint those he loved or who looked up to him, carried guilt that couldn’t be shaken.

But there was a growing element to his personality that wasn’t like him.  Eventually it became evident in behaviors he was exhibiting.  He and Mary had a fight and a domestic disturbance call was made which threw him into the Vista jail.  The next day he drove his car off the cliff in Carlsbad.  We all knew it was a  cry for help.  Apparently, Mitchell the former Chargers pastor was counseling him.  While  Christian counseling is all well and good,  I doubt very seriously that Mitchell knew what he was dealing with nor was he trained to see the signs of the psychological impact of TBI.   Junior took many hard hits over the years, and for the most part, you just don’t get into the Football Hall of Fame without them.  Fact is, brain injury leaves a lasting impression and needs very specific treatment and attention in counseling.

My father, was an All American Quarterback, he told me of this  years ago when we saw football stars falling down in the public eye.  Sometimes they turned to drugs and as we watched other local players (Carlsbad you know who I’m thinking of..) make it to the NFL, only to be struck down by these injuries and poor coping skills.   The alpha male types don’t often reach out for help until they hit rock bottom.  Usually jail time, or worse.  Junior had hit rock bottom on that car ride to the Vista jail.  That was NOT the Junior Seau in his mind…he was not a criminal…he didn’t hurt or scare people.

He may have been thinking things that I hear from veterans suffering from the same…What have I become?  She would be better off without my sorry self…all I am is a burden and it’s getting worse. I could carry on about all the reasons that I think Junior’s head injuries played the major role in his suicide.  But the thing that made it clear to me was the message we got.  It could have been his last thought when he pulled that trigger to the heart, just like his friend did who wanted to save his brain for research.  I don’t think it could be any more transparent to us all, unless there was a note.

For now,  I can claim to be at least a partial TBI subject matter expert.  Starting with the fact that at age 15 my best friend was in a coma for two weeks and I moved in and helped her to rehabilitate, she had to re-learn walking, talking, adding, subtracting, common sense, just about everything came back at an accelerated pace, except many things that Junior also had issue with…short term memory, social reasoning issues with impulse and anger control and I’m sure there were others that if he had been getting treatment, an expert would have been able to diagnose.  These are parts of the brain controlled in the  frontal or occipital lobes and are also the parts that would be bruised by being tossed around in your skull.

I eventually pursued a degree in psychology sparked by that experience and began mental health testing on combat veterans, as well as, several years working for State of Ga. in Dept. of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intake and Evaluation writing reports on mental status, medical, social and environmental histories.

My jobs have made me privy to personal information by interview, observation and instinct.  People have different symptoms, but I could tell you from just talking to those who cared for him, Juniors head trauma presented as typical of a brain injury in the frontal and occipital lobes, a progressive deterioration with age (common) with impulsive, angry outbursts, very difficult to control and the resulting psychological impact is guilt and depression.   A ton of guilt because a guy like Junior thought he had to always be in control…but he was out of control with his emotions and was hurting the people he loved.

I could see how he may have rationalized what a lot of veterans that are suicidal believe, that he was …”More of a burden than a help…..  Would be better off dead with the insurance money then to have to deal with me…Its never going to get better, only worse.”  

This story is so familiar to us who work with suicidal veterans and who understand the TBI that our troops are coming home with.   So many not properly diagnosed and can be labeled as PTSD, Bi-Polar Disorder NOS or have a concussion on record but tell others they are OK and don’t get the diagnosis.  Unfortunately, what finally brings the actual brain injury to our attention can be a mental illness a  progressive disease, like Parkinsons, just think about Muhammad Ali , another disability or suicide.   Today, veteran suicide is literally an epidemic that people don’t know how to prevent.   That is why its my top priority when helping assist wounded warriors with resources and dream trips that will pull them out of that deep figure 8 track of poor self-image and depression.

I will continue to try to bring the epidemic to people’s attention because this is why we are losing more of our young men to suicide than we did in war.  OVER 18 per day and that is just the recorded suicides, not the ones by Cop or extreme activities.  Their ages are 27 and under, on average.

If we can’t take care of our young men who have been ordered to do things that we cannot even fathom in our worst dreams, then why would anyone want to volunteer for the military?   For the most part, Americans are clueless to how these invisible wounds effect so many lives until something like this happens and I know that Junior, having given so much to the troops, would want us to use his story to help them and sports athletes suffering the same, in his death.

Anna Brooke’s journey as a competitive shooter began in April of 2011. Between The Berms: Where There’s A Wills

A fundraising effort for the Wounded Warrior Project is underway in the Area 8 region – the Mid-Atlantic states – of the U.S. Practical Shooting Association.

To date, some 17 fundraising teams have raised just over $7,800 since February, and all because of a letter from a little boy named Lee Wills.

If the name Lee Wills sounds familiar it’s probably because the 11-year-old was the youngest competitor at this year’s USPSA Single Stack Nationals, which we spotlighted earlier in Between The Berms.

Besides being a single stack shooter in USPSA, and a constant needler of older brother Jesse, a 16-year-old wheelgunner, Lee is a frequent visitor to one of the nation’s most recognized military facilities, the recently closed Walter Reed Medical Center.

The son of retired Army officer LTC Richard Wills, Lee has been a regular at Walter Reed because of a condition called Bilateral Syndactyly/Polydactyly which left him at birth with 14 fingers and webbing in between.

Since his first eight-hour surgery at just four months of age, Lee has been in and out of the hospital undergoing a total of 10 surgeries.

Doctors scheduled an 11th for this winter and say more can be expected until the time he stops growing.

It’s hard enough going through repeated surgeries. Add to that the stigma of his condition and nobody would blame Lee for being quiet and closed off, especially from strangers.

But Lee is just the opposite. While older brother Jesse is the quiet, shy one Lee is outgoing, even flirtatious according to his mom, Karla, who attributes much of Lee’s confidence from competitive shooting.

“Lee has a level of confidence he never had before. He’s made many friends and gets an overwhelming amount of support and encouragement from pro’s like Julie [Golob] and Kippi [Leatham],” explains Karla.

Lee’s closest friend from competition is 2009 USPSA Revolver National Champion Cliff Walsh who describes the two as “best buddies.” The pair even started their own tradition of hitting a Hooters restaurant after a match to celebrate. (No doubt momjust loves that.)

“He’s been able to endure and overcome with style and grace. Lee’s tough as nails,” brags Karla.

As tough and confident as Lee might be, even the sad reality of Walter Reed can’t be pushed away.

Lee often visits with wounded soldiers when he’s at Walter Reed and shows them his hands and talks about what he’s been through. He’s seen soldiers with missing limbs, and even those missing part of their face.

It was during a visit prior to surgery number 10 in February that prompted Lee’s fundraising effort. He and mom Karla watched as a soldier, missing a leg, fell to the floor in front of them and screamed in agonizing pain as he lay in the hallway.

The sight of someone so strong and brave reduced to screaming helplessness in the hospital hallway saddened and horrified son and mother, and brought both to tears.

That day had a profound effect on Lee and, whether out of compassion or maybe sheer ignorance of what an 11-year-old can and cannot do, he took on what responsibility he could to do something about the plight of soldiers like the one he saw.

First Jesse placed a call to Harry Foltz, the USPSA Area 8 director, to explain the situation, and clear the way for Lee as only a big brother can.

Then Lee wrote a letter to Foltz explaining what he’s witnessed at Walter Reed, ending it with this simple appeal, “Do you think USPSA will help the soldiers, I will help and Jesse will too.”

After receiving Lee’s letter, Foltz put the wheels in motion to build a fundraising effort for the Wounded Warrior Project starting with an

Area 8 Team page to coordinate the overall effort.

From there momentum quickly built as sponsors Zero Bullets, EGW and Hogdon Powder – yes, Lee and Jesse Wills have sponsors – kicked in donations. Julie Golob donated, proving that Lee’s flirting really does pay off.

Karl McKeever at GT Target Stands, another Wills Brothers sponsor, donated steel for a WWP side match at the 2011 EGW Area 8 Championship, while Volquartsen Custom made donated gift certificates.

Then Area 8 clubs joined the effort hosting their own fundraising matches starting with one at Topton Fish & Game then York Izaak Walton #67, Lower Providence Rod & Gun Club, Southern Chester Co. Practical Shooters, East Huntingdon Practical Shooters, Fredericksburg Practical Shooters, Tenafly Rifle & Pistol Club, Lewistown Pistol Club, Pardoe Sportsmen Association, Roanoke Rifle & Revolver Club and Eastern Shore Practical Shooters.

Karla, who’s good friends with Tommy Thacker at FNH USA, and Foltz pitched Thacker on a shotgun donation. The result is a donated FN SLP Mark I Shotgun to be raffled off at the EGW Area 8 Championship, with raffle tickets sold at several of the WWP matches.

And as recently as this week Nevco Targets has jumped on the bandwagon with a donation of Steel Challenge stage targets.

That’s a ton of support in a short period of time, and the fundraising is still ongoing.

Now…Lee Wills hasn’t won any major titles. He isn’t a pro shooter. He’s not on the ‘Super Squad.’ He’s not a USPSA Grand Master, a Master or even an A Class shooter – yet.

However, this 11-year-old little boy is proving to be one of the most influential shooters in the U.S. Practical Shooting Association with a small army of shooters rallying to his cause.

All because what Lee saw he didn’t like, so he thought he’d try and do something about it.

…Where there’s a Wills, there’s a way.

 The family of SGT Jamie Jarboe has requested that the Patriot Guard Riders stand to honor their beloved soldier.

 SGT. Jamie Jarboe (27) joined the Army National Guard in 2005. He volunteered to go to Iraq in 2005 and served a 9 month tour. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2007 and again was deployed to Iraq, serving a 15 month tour of duty. He was assigned to Operation Enduring Freedom in February 2011 and deployed to Afghanistan. While there Jamie was wounded by a sniper on April 10, 2011. He underwent over 120 surgeries at numerous hospitals. He was transferred to St. Francis Health Center in Topeka, KS on February 17, 2012 to be closer to his family. On March 21, 2012 Jamie passed away.

NBC Sports was my hero for putting on a real shooting show and sponsoring the cash prize table at 3 Gun Championship.  However,  HotShots made a huge mistake by not including more content with Dave Sevigny!   What kinda crazy rumor  Kool-Aid were they drinking?  Sheesh!  I often wonder what happened to plain common sense and critical thinking skills.  Oh wait..were talking Hollywood.  Still…they usually throw that aside.  Its amazing what a whiff of lawsuit in the morning will make corporations do!   Thankfully, loyal fans of Dave… still have common sense and critical thinking skills.  They can count…one plus one equals two…not three or four!  Not sure about HotShots however.  The time slot sucks and I’m not thrilled with the profiles. For now, Sunday mornings at 9am… I’d rather be in church!

This clip is indicative of why he is…and continues to be a champion.   Class act..no cussing…drama or out of  control behavior.  Rather just the opposite.  He’s cool…calm and collected under pressure making thoughtful decisions and then carrying on business as usual!   He stays focused on the game and NEVER distracted to the point of ruining the entire run by something totally out of his control.  His recovery  is great!  His just picks up and keeps going…never taking his eyes off the target.  OMB is lucky to have such a superstar in their line-up!

Dave is awesomeness on any stage and sets the bar high for competitive shooting.  Unfortunately, the days of glory for Team Glock are over now that he and everyone else…has left.  Wonder what that is all about?

It was a typical truck stop diner.  Four or five truckers were nursing

their bowls of chili and country-fried steaks, talking about

everything under the sun. I’ve experienced the scene thousands of

times at truck stops all over the country. I am, after all, a trucker.

What I had not experienced before, was what I heard coming out of the

mouth of the man seated at the apex of the U-shaped counter. The man

sitting there was saying, “If you study it, you will find that most of

the world’s problems are caused by the Jews.” That whipped my head

around faster than the time I was flashed by a woman on I-81. I

started listening carefully to what the man was saying to the other

drivers at that end of the counter. I heard a lot, probably more than

I wanted to. I found out that he – I will call him Su’ud (those of you

familiar with Arabic will see the humor here) – was born in Jordan and

moved to the United States as a child in the 1960s. He now lives in

Chicago, and got his CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) just over a

year ago. Here is a sampling of the things he said:

Israel (he called it Palestine) rightfully belongs to the Arabs; the

Jews began stealing it over 100 years ago, legitimized their theft in

1948, and stole more in 1967. He conveniently left out the part about

Egypt, Jordan and Syria attacking Israel. He also completely forgets

that (Egyptian president) Nasser said, in the lead-up to the Six Day

War, “Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel.”

Jewish bankers manipulate international relations from behind the

scenes, buying their influence with money they have stolen from the

poor people of the world. They secretly control the United States

government, making sure that the flow of foreign aid to Israel is

unhindered, so as to support the subjugation of the peaceful

Palestinian people.

The Holocaust probably never happened; it was most likely the

fabrication of a Jewish propaganda machine. If it did happen, it was

rich Jews robbing and murdering poor Jews, not Hitler and the Nazis

carrying out their “Final Solution.”

At this point I was pretty angry, so I left rather than chance losing

my temper and getting physical. I wrote a brief description of this

encounter in an email to some friends, crawled into my sleeper berth,

and went to bed.

When I woke up, I had several replies to my email. Some of the replies

said that I should have spoken up. The problem was, while I had a

general sense that the man was wrong, I did not have specifics to back

up my beliefs. Names, dates, events – I remembered reading about much

of this, but not the details. And I’d had my ire up, so a

confrontation would have probably ended in fisticuffs. So I did some

reading online before going inside for breakfast.

Wouldn’t you know it, right after I ordered breakfast, Su’ud came in

and sat two spaces down from me at the counter. This time, I engaged.

I had the facts, and I wasn’t afraid to use them.

I countered his claims that Israel sits on stolen land with the facts

of how the PJCA and JNF among others not only bought land fair and

square, but often paid over ten times the fair value of the land. They

were forced to do this – and to bribe bureaucrats for the paperwork

required – because Jews were prohibited from buying land in Ottoman

Palestine, even if they were Ottoman citizens.

I countered his claims that the Holocaust was a Jewish fabrication

with the fact that my grandfather saw the concentration camp at Dachau

with his own eyes in 1945. He would not discuss the matter any further

than to confirm that he was there and saw it. He had nightmares for

the rest of his life.

I countered his claims that Jordanians are the victims of cowardly

Jewish oppression by asking if it is a brave thing to fire rockets

from the roofs of hospitals and then cry to the nearest television

camera when your firing position is targeted in retaliation. I asked

if it is oppression to defend oneself when attacked.

I worked at this for about an hour, getting nowhere. It was like

talking to a brick wall. About this time, an older driver and his wife

came in, sat down, and ordered breakfast. For purposes of discussion,

I will call this driver Bill. This provided a lull in the conversation

I was having with Su’ud, and we all began talking shop. Freight rates,

truck maintenance, engine specs, fuel economy, and so forth.

Thirty minutes later, I was getting ready to pay my ticket and go do

my job. Su’ud mentioned something in passing, revealing he is a

Muslim. This got Bill’s attention. You see, Bill’s daughter married a

Turkish man, moved to Turkey, and converted to Islam. Bill read the

Koran from cover to cover, trying to understand his daughter’s new

Bill had no qualms about voicing this opinion – loudly.

I wish I had stuck around to see how it all ended, but I was already

running late and had to hit the road. I paid my ticket and left. As I

walked out, voices were being raised. It’s probably best that I got

out of there before things turned violent.

BENJAMIN SMITH:  Friend of Andrew Breitbart reacts to his untimely death. 

“The early passing of Andrew Breitbart is shocking to the Constitutionally Conservative Patriot movement.  Those close to him before his untimely demise take notice of the efforts that he has given to the movement to wake people up from their governmentally induced malaise and realize the actual condition of our country at the hands of Obama and ACORN, Holder and Fast and Furious. His latest projects shined a bright light on the people and happenings behind the Occupy Wall Street movement, from Soros to the Communist Party, to extremists connected with the Muslim Brotherhood, which includes Anthony Weiner and his wife. These were all stories Andrew helped get needed attention.

We feel Andrew served as the modern surrogate of Samuel Adams in his opposition to the current administration’s attempts to abolish the Constitution of the United States and the ten amendments that give us our liberties.  Andrew Breitbart stood tall and said the inconvenient truths that most of us believed were true and would never hear in the mainstream news.  Andrew Breitbart stood tall against the big leftist organizations, wading into circumstances that would cause most people to fear for their safety, and he would stride fearlessly into the ensuing mayhem.  Andrew Breitbart helped place the deluge of the Socialist cabal into a common language and perspective so the common hard working citizen could be aware of the reasons their country is failing.

The media and the left have already started celebrating his death (look, you will find it).  Look soon to efforts to slander his name and achievements from all who he made uncomfortable by his telling the truths of their corruption.  Know that he is and was an honorable man and will live forever in out hearts and minds.

I have stood shoulder to shoulder with you Andrew in engaging Occupy Wall Street at CPAC and other times. You are a knight in shining armor on the Battlefield of Ideas and you will always have my respect and reverence. I am honored sir . . . Honored.

We live in crazy times — pay attention, there are bad people out there that are happy he is dead, and if they will cheer aloud his death, what else are they capable of doing?

Jason Ivey works as an assistant director in the film and television business in New York City. He’s written articles for Big Government and Big Hollywood among other sites, and produced a video for Breitbart TV called “Occupy Wall Street: In Their Own Words.”

One of the only times I saw Andrew Breitbart in person was at this year’s CPAC. It was lunchtime of Day One, and suddenly in walked a tall suited figure wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, wandering through the lobby and then up the stairs, all the while eerily chanting “Occupy . . . Occupy”, in the droning-mantra way leftist protestors often do. When he came close, the voice ultimately gave it away: the man behind the mask was Andrew Breitbart.

The next day ended with Breitbart having to be restrained by his bodyguards because he had finally had enough with the Occupiers who had repeatedly attempted to invade and disrupt CPAC. “Behave yourselves! Behave yourselves! You are rapists!” he shouted, to the shock and dismay of many of the young protestors.

These two incidents are perfect examples of the way Breitbart approached the cause he was always fighting for – a combination of good cheer, mockery, and heated anger. And a fight it was. Breitbart never went along to get along, he never sought common ground, and never conceded anything that wasn’t absolutely truthful.

Los Angeles was his home, and oftentimes the most devout converts to a cause or a system of beliefs are those who previously believed the opposite and have lived immersed in that culture. Breitbart understood leftists better than they understood themselves. He knew exactly who they were, what their tactics were, and what their objectives were. He was as valuable to the cause of conservative libertarianism as a turned Soviet spy would have been to the CIA or MI6. He knew these people, and he wasn’t going to let them continue to get away with it.

He aimed right for the heart. He knew leftists controlled the debate because they control the institutions of influence: government, news media, and entertainment. His websites Big Government, Big Journalism, and Big Hollywood were the rebels striking back. Breitbart knew the enemy, and loved turning the tables on them, and his list of victims is long. He laughed at pompous left-wing politicians, his sites highlighted stupid and embarrassing pronouncements from senators, entertainers, and so-called journalists. Was this newsworthy? Not necessarily, but it’s exactly what these institutions had been doing to conservatives for decades, and Andrew Breitbart was mad as hell and wasn’t going to take it anymore.

His style in interviews was always illuminating and entertaining. Every interrogator tried to throw him against the ropes, but Andrew never wavered. He knew every trick and every punch they’d throw, and always made sure to be more informed than they, and nearly always was. Most entertaining was his habit of speaking to interviewers like children, probably because that’s how he viewed them. He would repeat points or questions over and over again, not letting his interlocutor play hit-and-run: “Where does it say that? Where does it say that?” or “Show me the quote. Show me quote” over and over again, until he had them stopped in their tracks.

The mainstream media hates Andrew Breitbart, and will continue to do so after his untimely death. They hate him because they want to be him. Andrew was the true counter-culture warrior, the one who did whatever it took to expose the corruption at the highest levels of power. He was not only a voice for the conservative movement, but was often leading the charge, in a slightly mad and crazed – but always justified – sort of way. In a sense, he was the Braveheart of conservatism. He was a man of action, intelligence, and wit. He’s gone too soon, but he’s been an inspiration to all of us who care about the fight for freedom and liberty.

“These guys want Starbucks to act as their surrogate, to push this social bigotry against gun owners, and I think the gun owners have responded rather well,” Workman said. “The gun guys are willing to put their money where their mouth is, while the anti-gun guys are trying to take money away from Starbucks. Now if I was in business, if I was Howard Schultz, I would sit back and think, ‘Guess whose side I’m on? Not the people who are taking my business away.’”

The typical emotionally evoking leftist argument was given by the “Chief of the Ignorant” with unfounded statements such as;

“Starbucks allowing guns to be carried in thousands of their stores significantly increases everyone’s risk of being a victim of gun violence,” Elliot Fineman, head of the Chicago-based council, said in a press release announcing the boycott.

FORTUNATELY,  PRO 2ND AMENDMENT PEOPLE AND GUN OWNERS PREVAILED 

“Most of the visible action Tuesday seemed to be on the buycott side of things, though, as gun groups across the country urged their members to show up at Starbucks — not necessarily with their weapons — and spend!”

While I am a firm supporter of the Constitution and our Amendment rights, these people need to shut up and go home (or find one) already!    DC didn’t give out the number of permits that they actually applied for…go figure…they didn’t want to clean up their filthy mess, nor would they put up with their threats to “take over” CPAC.  Good to know some logic still prevails in DC.  Thanks for that!

Dave and Brooke of Sevigny Performance won Iron Sight  (a.k.a.,”Limited”) division titles at the season opening 2012 Georgia State Steel Challenge Championship this weekend! It marked the 7th consecutive season Dave won the Limited Division Championship while Brooke won her FIRST ever Ladies State Championship!

Dave competed with an STI 5 inch 2011 in 9mm built by Millenium Custom. Brooke competed with a custom 5 inch 1911 in 9mm built by  Harrison Design & Consulting. The state match was held at the Griffin Gun Club, where steel challenge events are hosted on the first Saturday of every month.

Tips from a world-class competitive shooter to improve your shooting prowess!

Whether shooting two-handed or one-handed, specific considerations in regards to form must be made. Repetitive practice of these shooting forms is essential for the development of strong shooting skills.

“Want to shooter faster and better? There is a reason why the best handgunners in the world use a thumbs-forward grip. This technique gives the operator balanced contact on the pistol grip and improves recoil control with predictable sight tracking. I learned early in my shooting career that gripping higher with the support-hand wrist rolled forward provides more control than any other method.”

Here is an example of a correct grip. The thumbs are forward, the hands are together and they have a 360 degree hold on the pistol.

“Position the web of your firing hand high along the backstrap leaving no space between the top of your hand and the beavertail. The middle finger should be firmly pressed along the bottom of the triggerguard with all fingers touching one another. Keep your thumb straight and on top of the manual safety if your pistol has one. The pistol slide should be oriented in line with your forearm.

With the support hand, keep all four fingers together as you contact the bottom of the triggerguard. The heel of the support hand should mate with the bottom of the firing-hand thumb. Keep the thumbs pointed forward and contact all sides of the pistol. Again, this thumbs-forward wrist locking action will help sight recovery between shots. It is simple to reacquire this grip when the support hand is on and off the pistol during magazine changes or other tasks requiring use of the non-firing hand.”

Establishing a solid, wide base combined with keeping your shoulders slightly forward will help to keep your accuracy consistent.

Love brought me here. . .to this current place in my life. I met the most incredible human being I have ever known and in no time I fell in love with him. Being raised by WW2 grandparents (he fought in the Pacific Theater and she made hand grenades) instilled not only feverish Patriotism, but also the need to educate my children about the current war. My desire to ensure that my children were aware that the wars our country is fighting are not wars belonging only to the young men and women in photos or they see on television & news papers, but to understand that these wars belong to us as a country. . .to us as individuals. Our country, I wanted my children to not only love and be proud of her. . . but to have the desire to protect what our forefathers gifted us . . .the most amazing & powerful country in the world. So as a single mother working a full-time job & raising my children,  I took on volunteering as a lesson to lead by example to teach these things to my children and to give them the opportunity to serve their country through my position with the USO. This was a turning point in my life, in all our lives.

Volunteering for the USO came after I got involved with my son’s middle school project of sending boxes to our local deployed warriors. When the project ended, our family sent their own boxes. We would all go together to Target with a list I printed off-line specific to ‘troop packages’, filling our cart with baby wipes and lip balm among other things. It worked; it gave a sense of understanding and ‘ownership’ over the war. My son ended up for a time with a pen pal in Iraq. It helped him to understand things no one could just explain to him…or that photos could depict. My position with the USO started out with airport duty. . .and over time I was given the responsibility of Soldier Readiness weekends for my area of the world. During my time volunteering other opportunities popped up as I met people who were involved in the Warfighter community. Patriot Guard Riders etc. . .events and so many wonderful people passionate about ‘their own’. I was inspired and it seems having been born on a base and raised by a military family. . .I really found myself at home. Ultimately, this little path off the normal path of my life brought me to cross paths with my husband. I will always be grateful to the USO, for the USO was the path straight into the arms of the love of my life. Who knew?

Falling in love & marrying an Army Paratrooper/PsyOp’er is an adventure in itself (All the way !!!) . . .but add blending families, marrying a 100% VA rated vet, moving cross-country and no longer living the career path I lived my whole life really shook up my world. Everything, and I mean everything I considered core in my world changed completely, less the little faces that call me Mom. I am not complaining. My world is quite amazing.  An amazing man, amazing children. . .in a part of the country people flock to because it is a paradise. How could I complain? No this is not complaining. I am simply telling my story in hopes of connecting others who have been claimed by ‘the caregiver’ lifestyle and hoping to share something important in my world, and to bring recognition to it. My goal:  to put a face on the words, the title ‘the caregiver’. As you meet us along the way in life. . .there is one thing you must know. We are all people who have given up the things that have defined us in life for something we love. We are a work in progress. . .we are struggling to not only redefine ourselves (sometimes mid or late life) but we are also looking for ways to justify to others why we are doing it. This is not a lifestyle just anyone can dedicate themselves to. . .we are all warriors in our own way. Our sons/daughters/husbands/wives/brothers/sisters loved their country so much that they gave their quality of life, a piece of their soul away to be a guardian to their nation. We in turn give up a life long identity because love, loyalty & respect of someone we love outweighs our image, who we have create ourselves to be. We honor our loved one by dedicating our life to them for the love they had of country.

This is just the beginning of my story, a story with a lot of characteristics similar to all caregiver stories. I have a lot more to share but it will have to wait. I am home alone tonight with our children & dogs. My husband is traveling to Indianapolis for Super Bowl 46. He is meeting up with an incredible young man named Cory Smith who under the .org my husband works with (GallantFew) is running nearly 550 miles from Ft.Benning to his home in Indiana to help spread awareness of the difficulties of our Warfighters re-integrating back into the civilian world. I am fulltime keeper of the children, dogs & house for the next few days, so I have to take care of my priorities and get some sleep. Today’s trip came out of the blue this morning when Karl Monger/founder of GallantFew called us and Boone was on a plane 6 hours later. Wish Cory luck if you watch the Super Bowl this weekend. . .and keep your eye out for a really cute blonde with blue eyes and a reddish goatee! That would be my honey. The one worth changing my entire life for.

Whats happening with the half a trillion budget cut to the military?  First of all, every one of our forces will be effected.  Its been stated that these cuts will significantly impact our government contractors and Sec. of Defense, Leon Panetta said they have to figure out which ones they can’t cut off completely.  We must continue to fund the most important companies in order to not lose our essential contractors, if and when they are needed to produce their products quickly.  However, immediate cuts will delay or stop much of the new stealth bombers and our replacements for the aging air fleet, already under contract.           Additionally, new weaponry projects are being put on hold in favor of high-tech warfare contractors, ie: unmanned drones and such.

The reasoning?  Counter insurgency campaigns are technically over, so we don’t need as many troops on the ground. 75,000 will remain active and more special operation forces will be trained and funded.  This is how our future military is described and its happening right now.
1/9 of the budget reductions are going to be felt in a reduction of military pay and we’re supposed to feel better about that because there will be an adjustment period for those currently enlisted before they see any changes… but don’t expect raises in pay. Healthcare changes are included as well, mostly for retiree’s and especially for the younger vets who are actually lucky enough to be employed.  This goes hand in hand with the huge push for corporations to employ veterans, especially those who are out for more than 6 mths.   I’m sure Mr. Panetta didn’t want to  start coup  by saying they were going to cut the retirement benefits of the currently enlisted…   So he stated they “don’t know what to do” about it just yet, as they didn’t want it to appear on the chopping block.  To avoid the obvious, they made a “commission” to discuss it further.

BOTH ROMNEY AND NEWT ARE CAMPAIGNING HERE IN FLA. SAYING THEY WOULD BUILD UP THE MILITARY, BUT NO ELABORATION ON WHAT ELSE THEY WOULD CUT INSTEAD…NOR ANY MENTION OF WHAT WE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH NOW AND HOW TO FIX IT.

I’m afraid that BOTH are at a loss for words about this historical budge cut and any candidate will be inclined to make an empty promise, at this point.  The debt will continue to affect the budget, just as it does now and it’s not going to look much different unless our economy is stimulated by taking back the manufacturing industry from overseas, cutting taxes for small business, reforming the legal system rising the cost of healthcare, among other things.  The bottom line is that the money just isn’t there to support all the programs and services people have come to expect and rely on.  Entitlement has become a multi-generational way of life. We don’t take care of each other like we used to,  rather we rely on the government to do it for us.  The longer we are in debt to the world bank, and paying them to make all our products at the same time, the less likely we are to have everything we need and want for our country anyway, so this is the future…its here and now we have to find a way to deal with it.  Its going to affect us all, if it hasn’t already.

I try to look at the silver lining and the good part I see is that we will be a more technologically advanced military with awesome special ops forces who are proven to be more effective than ground troops in  a counterinsurgency strategy.  The sad fact is that tribal populations and other similar type civilizations, don’t understand much about negotiations.  They don’t get what they want and won’t trust an outsider.  Instead they play both sides and ultimately, no one wins. What they do understand and respond to is sad but true… death and destruction.  Also, if we can keep ourselves out of a conflict that would need a huge ground force presence,  we will have less of our children coming home with wounds that would have previously killed them, along with  mind-blowing angst from traumatic stress, causing unbelievable burdens on our heroes, the family and ultimately society.   However, if we must occupy another country for the good of saving our own, we have no choice but to have boots on the ground.  That is the piece that worries me the most about such a drastic downsize of our troops.  It means there may be a time when it has to be drastically increased and I don’t want to see another draft because the way we take care of the troops we do have, is not attractive to recruit and retain.

Bottom line is that I’m not happy about these cuts when there are other places that should be completely disassembled, before our military.  Lets start with downsizing the major agencies that weren’t in existence before 1970 and help the States take care of their own.
